Horizontal Axis

Two oppositional sides

The axis connecting the Ascendant and Descendant. The horizontal axis divides the horoscope into a diurnal hemisphere and a nocturnal hemisphere.

It places the individual in a physical perspective: The Ascendant marks how an individual appears to others, and the Descendant how others react.

The second main axis in the horoscope is the vertical axis, which connects the Medium Coeli with the Imum Coeli.
