Mark Pottenger
Der US-amerikanische Informatiker und Astrologe Mark Pottenger wurde am 9.2.1955 um 3:23 Uhr in Tucson (Arizona) geboren.[1]
Biographie
Mark Pottenger[2] ist Sohn der 2003 verstorbenen Astrologin Zipporah Dobyns; seine Schwester ist Maritha Pottenger, er hat noch zwei weitere Geschwister. Im Jahr 1976 schloss er sein Philosophiestudium als Master ab. Seit 1977 arbeitet er als Programmierer und Systemadministrator.
Astrologie
Mark Pottenger ist zwar kein praktizierender Astrologe, hat jedoch die technische Seite des Metiers intensiv betreut, da er sowohl mit Astronomie und Astrologie, aber eben auch mit Informatik bestens vertraut ist. Als Programmierer erarbeitete er das AstroMaps-Modul für die Astrologiesoftware Kepler und unterstützte auch sonst den Programmierer David Cochrane technisch. Ebenso war er bei der Ephemeridenberechnung, unter anderm für Asteroiden, beteiligt.
Von 1985 bis 1995 war er Forschungsleiter der ISAR (International Society for Astrological Research).
