Sensitive points are not actual heavenly bodies like planets or fixed stars, but are mathematically calculated degrees on the ecliptic that nevertheless have interpretive value in the horoscope. Some of them are extremely important, such as the ascendant, whereas others are used by a minority of astrologers. Examples include the chart angles, Arabian parts, Black Moon Lilith, and the vertex.
Because they are not physical bodies, sensitive points cast no orb. Consequently some astrologers work only with exact aspects to sensitive points, whereas others may allow the orb appropriate to the aspecting planet.
