Zipporah Pottenger Dobyns, geboren am 26.8.1921, 21:48 in Chicago, Illinois, gestorben am 7.6.2003 in San Diego, [1] war eine US-amerikanische Astrologin.

Leben

Ihre akademische Ausbildung umfasste einen B.A. in Anthropologie von der Universität Chicago (1962), später (1966) erwarb sie der University of Arizona einen Master in Klinischer Psychologie und einen Doktor der Philosophie (1969)[2]).

Verheiratet wurde sie im Oktober 1948.

1965 wurde sie als Pfarrerin der Community Church of Religious Science ordiniert.

Ihre vier Kinder Rique Pottenger, William Pottenger, Maritha Pottenger und Mark Pottenger machten sich ebenfalls in der Astrologie einen Namen.

Astrologie

Beginn ihres Studiums der Astrologie war im Herbst 1956. Zertifiziert wurde sie als professioneller Astrologe nach der AFA-Prüfung im Jahr 1960. Sie war lange Jahre sehr engagiert in der Organisation ISAR und Mitarbeiterin von Neil Michelsen bei Astro Computing Services (ACS) in San Diego.

Bekannt ist Zipporah (oder Zip) Dobyns auch durch das Astrologische Alphabet, einen Begriff, den sie populär machte und viel benutzte, im Englischen umgangssprachlich auch als "Zip Code" bezeichnet (in Anspielung auf die dortige Bezeichnung des Postleitzahlensystems).

Astrology is probably the most complex and sophisticated method of describing life that has ever been discovered or developed by human beings.
