Via Combusta

Via combusta or "the burning way" is the segment of the zodiac which runs from 15 degrees Libra to 15 degrees Scorpio. In Antiquity planets in this part of the zodiac were thought to bring bad luck because numerous malefic fixed stars are located here.

However, owing to the Precession of the Equinoxes this is no longer the case. Horary astrologers may consider the Via Combusta in evaluating the condition of the moon, but otherwise modern astrology no longer attributes any significance to the term.
